Beach Volleyball Claims Pair of 4-1 Victories Sunday

Morehead State Beach Volleyball improved to 3-1 with a pair of 4-1 wins on Sunday to wrap up the Grand Sands Tournament. The Eagles defeated Liberty and Eastern Kentucky.

Against the Flames, the Eagles’ No. 2, 3 and 4 pairs won in straight sets. Kinsey McAfee and Bridget Bessler won their match 22-20 and 22-20 at No. 2. On court three, Peyton Kennedy and Abby Hulsman cruised to a 21-11, 21-20 triumph.

Peighton Isley and Brenna Bommer won 21-8, 21-17 at No.  4. At No. 5, M.E.  Hargan and Andrea Grimes rallied to win 19-21, 21-17, 15-3.

The Eagles repeated their fate in the match against their former OVC rivals, eKU, winning at Nos. 2-5.

McAfee and Bessler claimed a 21-19, 21-16 win at No. 2. On court three, Kennedy and Hulsman triumphed in three sets, as did Isley and Bommer at No. 4. On court five, Hargan and Grimes won 21-18, 21-13.

MSU is now idle until March when they travel to Tennessee to face Erskine (S.C.) and Carson-Newman (Tenn.).
