Morehead State University’s beach volleyball team will host its only home matches of the season during Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) weekend No. 2, starting April 18. The Eagles are set to welcome five other OVC teams at Giovanni’s Breadstick Beach, with seeding implications for next week’s league tournament in Martin, Tennessee.

The event holds significance as it is the team’s sole opportunity to compete at home this year and will help determine their position for the upcoming conference tournament. Morehead State will play Eastern Illinois at 2 p.m. and UT Martin at 6 p.m. on Friday, followed by Lindenwood at 10 a.m. and Chattanooga at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The Eagles enter the weekend tied with UT Martin in conference standings with a record of three wins and three losses, while holding an overall record of seven wins and fourteen losses. Chattanooga leads the conference with a perfect six-win record and has maintained a streak of twenty-one consecutive league victories since 2024. Lindenwood stands at five wins and one loss, Eastern Illinois is one win and five losses, while Tennessee Tech remains winless after six games.

Senior Shea Hefner has achieved Morehead State’s best individual record this season with thirteen wins out of twenty-one matches played exclusively in the No. 2 slot. Senior M.E. Hargan follows closely behind with twelve victories out of twenty-one matches, while junior Bella Marita has contributed nine wins to the team’s efforts.

At last month’s OVC weekend in Chattanooga, Morehead State defeated Eastern Illinois four sets to one but lost to their other opponents by margins of either five sets to zero or four sets to one.

All Morehead State matches during this home stand will be broadcast live on ESPN+. The outcomes from these games are expected to influence seedings for next week’s league tournament.
