NO NEW TAX - Regarding Carter County Times newspaper article this date, the City Council gave first reading last month to an INCREASE in the already in existence Occupational Tax from 1.5% to 2%, a one half percent increase.
Also SRO Contracts presented by the school board are approved by Council; usually in July. No vote has been made by City Council.
