14 coaches at institution in Carter County earned $24,021 on average in 2022

Carter County’s 14 coaches earned an average salary of $24,021 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the third lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at Kentucky post-secondary schools during 2022.

Carter County is home to just one post-secondary school which paid coaches during 2022.

Male coaches of men's teams received $29,966 on average in Carter County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $19,917.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
